Shallaway - Newfoundland and Labrador Youth in Chorus ( previously   NSYC-  Newfoundland Symphony Youth Choir)
is a community-based  Canadian cultural organization from St. John's, the oldest city in North America. F
ounded by
Artistic Director, Susan Knight, it comprises 220 young artists  ( aged  of 8  - 18  ) from the  region.  Its senior ensemble,
Camerata, has been invited to perform at the World Symposium.

At the heart of the Shallaway vision is the valuing, promoting and transmitting of Newfoundland and Labrador's distinctive
and rich culture, to celebrate cultural diversity and connection within Canada and around the globe, and to develop its
young choristers as leaders for the future in and for Newfoundland and Labrador.

In Copenhagen, Shallaway is delighted to be performing at the Tivoli Gardens Concert Hall with fellow choristers from
Denmark, China and Hungary in the Gala Songbridge project ( www.songbridge.com ). It is also greatly looking forward
to presenting Ann and Seamus, its commissioned opera (Stephen Hatfield), in the Queen's Hall of the Royal Library.
